Focused & Intensive Therapy Options

Extended psychotherapy for women who need depth, continuity and containment

In addition to weekly psychotherapy, I offer focused and intensive therapy formats for women who may benefit from extended sessions over a shorter period of time. These options are designed to provide greater continuity and therapeutic depth, while maintaining emotional safety, ethical practice and appropriate pacing.

Intensive therapy is not about speeding up healing or forcing outcomes. It is about creating a carefully held therapeutic container, where work can unfold without the disruption of long gaps between sessions, and where the nervous system has space to settle, process and integrate.

How we work together (intensively)

  • Initial consultation & appropriateness
A brief call and a short questionnaire help us confirm that an intensive format is supportive and safe at this time.
  • Bespoke clinical plan
We agree goals and a structured plan that suits your capacity. I work integratively (person-centred, psychodynamic, CBT/ACT, somatic) and, where appropriate, may include the Rewind Technique to reduce the charge of specific memories without detailed re-exposure.
  • Your personalised workbook
You’ll receive a bespoke workbook for the duration of the intensive: brief reflection prompts, grounding practices, and gentle between-session tasks—no homework pressure, just tools to keep the work coherent and contained.
  • Extended sessions, held steadily
Sessions are longer than standard so we don’t stop mid-process. We build in regulation breaks and end with clear grounding.
  • Integration & aftercare
You’ll receive a short written summary of key themes and supports. We agree next steps—ongoing weekly therapy, a pause to consolidate, or a follow-up check-in.

Who this may suit

Women who feel emotionally overwhelmed; want to work more deeply with a specific pattern or event; are navigating relationship trauma, childhood patterns, divorce/separation, midlife/menopause, or ADHD-related overwhelm; and prefer a contained, time-bound process.

(Adults only, 21+.)

The Rewind Technique

What it is — powerful and gentle

Rewind is a non-intrusive, detraumatisation method that helps the brain neutralise the high emotional arousal attached to traumatic memories and deep core beliefs. You don’t have to recount details; we work in deep relaxation, at your pace, with you in control.

What it helps

  • PTSD/trauma symptoms: flashbacks, intrusive images, nightmares, startle responses
  • Rigid core beliefs (“I’m not safe / it was my fault / I’m unlovable”) soften or release
  • Less rumination and self-blame; calmer, kinder self-talk
  • Quicker regulation after upsets, clearer boundaries, more day-to-day energy
  • Knock-on effects: better sleep, fewer anxiety spikes, steadier mood and more day-to-day ease

Why it’s different (and often fast-acting)

  • Non-voyeuristic: no repeated retelling of distressing details
  • Deep relaxation first: reduces the risk of reinforcing trauma patterns
  • Targeted imagery: the memory is run forwards/backwards rapidly at a comfortable speed until the emotional charge drops; then we future-rehearse confident responding

Evidence at a glance

  • A 2023 randomised controlled trial of Rewind (delivered via video) showed a large effect size for PTSD symptoms; one to three sessions demonstrated potential as a time- and cost-efficient trauma-focused intervention with similar effect sizes to CBT-TF and EMDR.
  • Clinical audits/service evaluations consistently report meaningful, sustained reductions in trauma and phobia symptoms for many clients.

How Rewind therapy helps PTSD

The Rewind Technique: a powerful detraumatisation method that works

Where it comes from

Developed by Dr David Muss, building on Richard Bandler’s visual/kinaesthetic dissociation protocol. Modern protocols align with neuroscience on memory reconsolidation and emphasise deep relaxation and activating the trauma template safely.

The Process

  1. Preparation & resourcing so your nervous system feels safe
  2. Short, structured Rewind segments within a standard session or intensive
  3. Grounding + a bespoke workbook to lock in the shifts between sessions
  4. Follow-up to consolidate changes and tidy any residual triggers

Offered when clinically appropriate as part of an integrative plan. Adults (21+) only.

FAQ

Safety, pacing and scope

Intensive therapy isn’t suitable for everyone. We consider stability, support, regulation capacity and timing before starting. Where there is ongoing coercive control or significant power imbalance, we may recommend individual work first.

Fees & practicalities

Fees reflect extended session time, pre-work, bespoke workbook, and integration support. Pricing varies by format and delivery (Singapore in-person or online) and is confirmed after consultation.
